About Almazian's Obsession

During its very short period of existence ALMAZIAN'S OBSESSION has appeared on TV stations worldwide, published a multimedia DVD, participated in numerous festivals, among which, the opening of the 1st KUSTENDORF FILM & MUSIC FESTIVAL and the 2010 SKOPJE SUMMER FESTIVAL in Macedonian National Theatre; the closing of the RHYTHM OF EUROPE FESTIVAL and the 2008 EXIT FESTIVAL (which receieved the coveted title of BEST EUROPEAN FESTIVAL 2008), where their performance was attended by more than 10.000 people. The success of the ensemble is such that one of the artistic world's most celebrated personalities, film director EMIR KUSTURICA, is preparing a video clip of ALMAZIAN'S OBSESSION for release in December 2010.

KHACHATUR ALMAZIAN

Khachatur Almazian was born in 1971 in artistic family in Yerevan, Armenia. His principal violin teachers were Petros Haykazian and Villy Mokatsian. Later he studied with Igor Oistrakh at Brussels Royal Conservatory, with Eduard Wulfson in Paris and Misha Keylin in New York.

In his young career he gave performances as a partner of world known musicians, such as Kolja Blacher, Alexander Markovich, Gilbert Varga, Frank Shipway, Christiaan Bor, Rudolf Werthen, Justus Frantz, Marco Parisotto, Bartholomeus-Henri Van De Velde.

Khachatur Almazian played numerous concerts with: Belgian Radio Philharmonic (BRT), Moravian Philharmonic (Czech Republic), Ontario Philharmonic (Canada), I Fiamminghi, Virtuosi di Praga, Vojvodina Symphony (Serbia), Shanghai Symphony, Virtuosi di Armenia, Charlemagne Orchestra, Geneva Soloists, Orquesta Sinfonica de la UACJ (Mexico)

He concertized at international festivals, such as Europa Musicale in Prague and Budapest, Ost-West Music Fest (Austria), Schlezwig-Holstein and Reingau (Germany), and many others.

In 1997 Khachatur Almazian won 1st Prize at Belgian Radio and TV Competition, he recorded extensively for radio and television broadcasts in Europe, Asia and North America.

He is playing on Jean Baptiste Vuillaume violin given by Carlo Van Neste Foundation.

TAMARA SAVIC
codirector & solo cello

Tamara SavicTamara Savic was born in Belgrade, Serbia. She studied cello at the most famous music conservatories around the world, such as: Cleveland Institute of Music (USA), Harid Conservatory (USA), Royal Academy Reina Sofia (Madrid, Spain)... She participated in numerous competitions, where she won 15 1st prizes, of which 1st prize of the international Heran's cello competition (Czech Republic), 1st price of the Sarasota music competition (Florida, USA)...

Tamara worked with many world known cellists, such as Aldo Parisoto, Ronald Leonard, Ivan Moniggeti... she played as a soloist with the Belgrade Radio Symphony Orchestra, West Coast Symphony Orchestra (Sarasota, Florida, USA), Novi Sad Chamber Orchestra, Vienna Women Chamber Orchestra (Austria)…

In 1998 Tamara released her solo CD, as a youngest cellist who was ever published by the biggest recording company PGP-RTS in former Yugoslavia.

Since 2006, she took on the position of principal Cellist of the prestigious Charlemagne Orchestra for Europe (Brusseles, Belgium), and since 2007 she is also a codirector and solo cello of Almazian's Obsession.

IVANA LISAK
composer

Ivana LisakAs a composer debuted in 2002 with piano sonata at Carnegie Hall, New York. Wrote music for various chamber ensembles, solo instruments and a large orchestra; as well as for films (Wrigley, USA, 2004), for theater and for jazz combos. Since 1998, Ivana Lisak performs and premieres her music in Boston as a member of the alliance The Human Connection and with Ensemble LEclectique (Boston Symphony performers) in 1998, won the Berklee Concerto Competition; in 2000 was the featured soloist for the 13th Annual All America Hall of Fame. Works has been published by the Clear Note Publishing Company.
